We understand that not all particulate is the same and will require different needs.    We have researched extensively to provide quality filters to help our customers maintain a safe working environment while working with a wide variety of particulate, odors, and VOC's. From weld smoke, paint, and wood dust to concrete silica, industrial primers, or a boost to your existing filtration system, our Portable Filtration has you covered! All of our filters have been tested for airflow to ensure that the maximum air passes possible while providing proper filtration to leave you with an efficient air filtration product to work with.

We have formulated sets, tested for the most popular industrial needs however, if you have special requirements, please Contact Us and let us help find you the best filters for your filtration requirements. Below are our available sets with more details on what filtration is provided by the individual filters. Our filter racks are adjustable to allow for endless combinations and as easy to change as loosening 4 bolts, setting the depth (max 43/8”), and retightening the bolts.

In most cases filters do not need to be changed all at once. During normal usage it is recommended to change them out one at a time in the order they are placed in filtration. A Magnehelic gauge is installed on each model to help you know when it is time to change filters.

Filter Sets

Our tested filter sets have been formulated for the most common filtration needs. Each set has the filtration stages for a full filter replacement (Intake and Exhaust)and have been tested to ensure maximum air movement and prevent undue stress on the motor, while still providing the widest range of filtration needed for the job.

If fine particulate is what you most commonly produce with your operations, then a High-Efficiency Particulate set may be the best choice for you. The included filters have been tested to be optimal for capturing particulate at a High Efficiency Rating due to the MERV 15 exhaust filtration stage. Commonly used for sanding, silicate handling, and other fine particulate producing activities. Filtration starts with the Pre-Filter skin, which captures larger particulate, saving your main filters from excessive replacement. The Tri-Fold panel ensures no particulate is missed by spanning the entire Intake, snugly fit the cover all gaps. The next stage is our 2 Pocket Cube filters that are designed to give more surface area to capture particulate matter without sacrificing crucial airflow. Lastly The exhaust stage is comprised of (2) 4” MERV 15 Mini-Pleated filters that are efficient enough to be considered High Efficiency. See our Resources page to learn more about what MERV ratings classify as High Efficiency and details on the size of particulate they are capable of capturing effectively.

  • (3) 2” Heavy Duty Aluminum Mesh Filters- Part# - 48575
  • (5) 1” Aluminum Mesh Filters- Part# - 48570
  • (2) Progressive Density Fiber Filters- Part# - 48480
  • (2) Carbon/Potassium Permanganate Filters- Part# - 48567
  • (2) MERV 15 Mini Pleat Filter- Part# - 48660
If you need to weld in a mobile area, you’ll need special filtration to capture hot sparks and particulate before reaching any fiber media. The first 3 Stages of Filtration (2 in intake and the 3rd starting in the exhaust) are comprised of a combination of 1” Aluminum Mesh and 2” Heavy Duty Aluminum Mesh (both Spark Arresting) to capture hot larger particulate and cool smaller particulate before filtering through the Progressive Density Fiber Filters. After the medium particulate has been captured the Carbon/Potassium mix Filters absorb dangerous weld smoke and other byproducts of welding to keep air quality clean. Lastly a set of MERV 15 filters, with High Efficiency Rating, capture remaining small particulate before returning air back into the work area. When reordering note that the Aluminum Mesh Filters (both sizes) can typically be blown out and reused.

Similar to the above Welding Filter set minus the Carbon/Potassium mix filters. Typically used in grinding and prepping situations where hot particulate will be present and need to be cooled, but no VOC’s or smoke will be present. Capture hot particulate and have the peace of mind that that remaining air will be filtered through the Progressive Density filters, capturing medium sized particulate before undergoing High Efficiency Rated filtration through the MERV 15 pleated filters (See Resources page for details). When reordering note that the Aluminum Mesh Filters (both sizes) can typically be blown out and reused.

Installation and Filter Replacement Tips

Here is the recommended way to know when to check filters:

  • When a new, complete set of filters is installed, turn the unit on for a few seconds allowing the gauge to reach its maximum reading for new filters.
  • Using a permanent marker, mark a line on the gauge where needle is resting. This will be your 100% level.
  • Operate as normal, checking your gauge each time you turn on your unit. When the gauges needle changes by 50% (Usually to left of initial 100% mark) turn off unit and start by replacing the pre-filter skin (if applicable) and then rechecking gauge. If the needle doesn’t return to at least 85%, turn the unit off and replace the next stage of filters. Repeat this process until at least 85% of your initial mark is reached by the needle.
  • If odor is becoming more and more noticeable it may be time to change out any carbon filters installed in the unit, they are not designed to capture particulate and may not significantly drop airflow enough to properly show with the gauge. Start by changing the 3 (metal cased) Granular Carbon Filters in the intake. Repeat step 3, noting changes to odor. If odor persists, change out the 2 (cardboard cased) Odor Ban Pleated Carbon Filters.
  • Don’t forget to reorder filters when your supply is getting low! Note the part number for faster ordering.
  • For a step-by-step video on this checking procedure, check out our Resources Page.

*Note: If you will be using multiple filter configurations, do this for each set, keeping marks unique and easily identifiable.

Overall it depends on what you are using your Equipment for as to how often you will need to change out filters. Changing out your Filter Saver Pre-skin (if applicable) every use is a good way to extend the life of the more efficient filters. Removing any filters with carbon embedded and placing in a plastic bag when not in use will extend their life as they will absorb humidity.

To help you maximize the life of your filters and Air Filtration unit, and the efficiency of filtration here are a few recommendations we have found helpful:

  • Follow the initial 100% filter marking instructions listed in the instruction manual included with your purchase and noted ABOVE.
  • When installing Pleated Carbon Filters, run pleats VERTICALLY for maximum airflow.
  • Always follow Airflow Directional Arrows. Airflow draws in the bottom (Intake) and releases from the top (Exhaust).
  • For Fiber Filters without Airflow Directions, assume colored side is the exhaust side and white side is the intake side.
  • If utilizing more than one type of filtration, be sure to swap out and use the appropriate filters for the particulate and/or odors being produced.
  • Be sure to regularly remove any large deposits that may accumulate in the intake to avoid debris buildups that can break loose and cause damage to the fan.
